Once again, both weeks of the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show will be held at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center, just outside the Houston city limits in Katy, TX. Pin Oak, which runs March 18-29, will take over the entire facility to accommodate over 1,500 horses from all over the world.

Beginning March 18, Week One will feature American Saddlebreds, Welsh ponies, jumpers, a dressage exhibition, United Mountain Horses, Andalusians and Lusitanos. We are also featuring Riding for Reading, which promotes reading, literacy and education through equestrian sports and activities. Enjoy a ringside dinner during Championship Night on Saturday that starts with the Saddlebred and Andalusian Championship classes and continues on to feature the $30,000 Nordic Lights Farm Grand Prix.

Beginning on March 22, Week Two will feature the Alamo Cup Challenge, which is a team event between the riders from the United States and Mexico, the $15,000 ASG/USHJA International Hunter Derby as well as being recognized as a World Championship Hunter Rider Show, featuring Olympic-level show jumping, concluding with the $30,000 Houston Area Audi Dealers Grand Prix on Saturday night and a ringside dinner and silent auction and raffle.

Continuing the tradition of supporting children's charities, proceeds from Pin Oak will go to the Texas Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms. Pin Oak is a 501 (C)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. In 2008 the show raised $125,000 for the children's charities.
