USEA Beginner Novice Results to be Tracked; Leaderboard Developed

by By Amy Daum, U.S. Eventing Association | Mar 17, 2005, 11:35 AM

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) announced that starting this year competition results of USEA registered beginner novice horses and beginner novice riders who are USEA members will be tracked in the association’s database, and a Top Ten Leaderboard will be maintained.

Registration and membership is still not required at the beginner novice level. Horses do not need to be registered, and riders can continue to pay the $25 non-member fee to compete at USEA-0recognized competitions. However, if a rider would like to be included in the leaderboard and be able to receive competition reports and award points for the rider and their horses, the rider must be a USEA member and register his or her horse. For a horse to compete through training level, the lifetime fee is $25; for riders, a full USEA membership with competition privileges costs $75 per year for those older than 18. Juniors (18 and under) pay $50 for the year. Both rider and horse need to be registered for a result to be posted.

If a rider has finished well at USEA recognized events so far in the 2005 season (since December 1, 2004), the USEA will retroactively apply points for horses and riders who are registered by April 30, 2005. Results for beginner novice competitors, as well as the beginner novice leaderboard, will be available online by mid-April.
