Take the fast track to the Long List at the CRI* National Championship to be held at the NRHA Derby June 26, 2009 in Oklahoma City

Lexington, KY - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will offer an opportunity for reiners not on the USEF Reining Long List for 2009 to compete for the USEF CRI* National Championship Title at the USEF CRI* National Reining Championship. This championship will be held concurrently with the Adequan/USEF National Open Reining Championship during the NRHA Derby in Oklahoma City, OK on June 26, 2009.

The USEF CRI* National Reining Championship is open to any rider who is not on the 2009 USEF Reining Long List or is on the restricted portion of the Long List and who has not competed in the Open Reining Championship in the last three years.

This CRI* Championship was designed to help develop the future of the sport of Reining on an International level. To facilitate the growth of the High Performance Reining Program, the top 10 riders from the USEF CRI* National Reining Championship will be added to the USEF Reining Long List and will be eligible to compete in the Open Reining Championships the following year. All of this is important in qualifying for future events like the USEF National Championships and potential to represent the US at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. For complete qualifying criteria for such events, please refer to www.usef.org.

Please note that horses and athletes competing in CRIs must meet FEI requirements.
