On Friday, May 29 2009, just two days after having seen the exciting final match for the crown of European club football, Italian capital Rome will be back in the spotlight of international top level sport by hosting the second leg of the 100th anniversary edition of team jumping’s most important annual competition, the Meydan FEI Nations Cup™. Thanks to FEI TV, fans across the U.S. won’t have to miss a moment of the action following their favorite American jumpers across Europe.
Four of the top American riders look to get into the Italian groove at the second stop of this prestigious tour. Olympic Gold medallists Laura Kraut and the tiny grey gelding Cedric lead the way. Kraut is hot off a huge Grand Prix win at CSIO***** Barcelona with Anthem last week. She leads the charge to Rome with a very capable supporting cast: Ashlee Bond (and Cadett 7)—the 25-year-old Californian has been streaking successfully both on the West Coast of the U.S. and since she landed in Europe earlier this month; Richard Spooner—universally known as the ‘Master of Faster,’ having amassed more than 100 Grand Prix wins—and the lightning fast Cristallo; and Lauren Hough, one of the most experienced U.S. riders will ride Quick Study.
Don’t miss a moment or a jump at the prestigious Piazza di Siena venue on FEI TV. The new official video website of the Fédération Equestre Internationale, will stream all the action live and in high quality straight to your computer.
The broadcast, presented by English commentator and horse sport specialist Stephen Hadley, will start at 15:45 CEST and cover both rounds. Additional features such as the draw, a virtual course walk and interviews will also be made available to users.
