Starlight, the stunning black Oldenburg stallion owned by Rick Rockefeller-Silvia’s Dream Street Stallions, is now in Europe under the tutelage of Karin Rehbein where he is sure to wow European fans with his amazing movement and outstanding looks. Prior to returning to Europe, Starlight won rave reviews from judges at Devon when he was crowned Devon’s Grand Champion Stallion in 2008.

“Starlight has had an illustrious career so far—multiple Horse of The Year titles, the Championship at Devon, numerous FEI-level championships, and two outstanding foal crops that have both received great praise, including a 100% premium rating (German Oldenburg Verband). All of this at the ripe old age of eight,” said Rockefeller-Silvia. “Starlight is now in Europe being trained and ridden by Karin Rehbein who is known for her ability to bring out the best in the stallions she trains and competes.”

Rockefeller-Silvia is looking forward to watching Starlight’s grand prix career unfold under Rehbein’s instruction. “Starlight is at Gronwohldhof with Karin, and it is an amazing facility and an amazing atmosphere. It’s been home to numerous Olympic horses and riders, and the level of expectation and excellence is extremely high,” he said.

Starlight’s riding career began in the summer of 2007 in the Open Prix St. Georges division. Since then, the stallion has hit the key 70% mark in both Prix St. Georges and Intermediate I. Starlight also qualified to compete in the Developing Horse Championships, under the guidance of Ryan Eskridge, a young rider who borrowed the horse from Rockefeller-Silvia when her horse unexpectedly went lame just days prior to the Palm Beach Dressage Derby. “I felt that was a great way to further prove Starlight’s rideability. Ryan came to my facility the Tuesday before the Derby, and I had her sit on all my horses,” Rockefeller-Silvia said. “She chose Starlight almost instantaneously. She did a beautiful job showing him at the Derby and a few weeks later she borrowed Starlight again to ride in the Young Riders Symposium with Olympian Steffen Peters.”

Rockefeller-Silvia, who balances his time between training horses at Dream Street Stallions in Wellington and an active modeling career in Miami, FL, plans on being in the stands this summer when Rehbein rides Starlight down the center line in the grand prix arena in Germany. “I am his biggest fan, and he has given me so much to be thankful for,” he said, adding that he took a chance when he imported the stallion for his breeding operation. “Starlight has definitely turned out to be a dream horse. He has spectacular gaits, an uphill build and an outstanding combination of several highly sought-after European bloodlines, including Sandro Hit, Corduer and Argentinus.”
