USEF Announces "My Favorite USEF Breed Competition" Contest

by Brian Sosby | Jul 1, 2009, 3:47 PM

Lexington, KY— The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) announces a new contest for 2009 designed to let USEF members vote for their “Favorite USEF Breed Competition.” The idea behind this contest is to award and promote the USEF licensed breed competitions for their efforts in running a show so well that exhibitors want to call it their favorite. Also, this contest gives exhibitors the opportunity to provide positive feedback about the competitions to the USEF.

“When we created this contest, we wanted to offer exhibitors the chance to express their opinions about competitions so the USEF could identify and recognize what exhibitors feel are the best breed shows in the country,” said USEF’s Assistant Executive Director of National Affiliates, Lori Nelson. “At the same time, we want to acknowledge our appreciation for the USEF competitions who continue to have shows year after year. Having the exhibitor tell us what makes these competitions so special seems to be the best way to acknowledge these competitions. We encourage all USEF members to take the time to vote for their favorite breed competition.”

The competition rules include that you must be a USEF member to vote and you must have participated in the 2009 USEF competition you are voting for as an official, trainer, rider/driver, handler or owner. Also, you may only vote once at www.usef.org, located in the lower right hand corner of the homepage. The contest begins July 1 and voting ends December 1, 2009.

USEF Recognized Breed competitions will have a chance to win their respective breed category (11 total categories). All of the winning competitions will be announced at the 2010 USEF Annual meeting. From these competitions, two will be selected from a random drawing to win Grand Prize and Runner-Up.

Each breed competition that wins as a “Favorite USEF Breed Competition of 2009” will receive a framed certificate (or plaque). The Grand Prize winner will receive a pizza party for their exhibitors at the 2010 competition. The Runner-Up will receive an ice cream party for the exhibitors at the 2010 competition.

In order to be eligible to claim their prize, the competitions must remain USEF licensed for 2010.
