Karen Healey Stables Claims Big Wins at Showpark Summer Festival and Gold Coast Series '5' Horse Shows

Karen Healey Stables showed at the Showpark Summer Festival and Gold Coast Series '5'horse shows, July 15-19, 2009. Showing in the hunters, jumpers, and equitation, Healey's students earned top honors throughout the weekend.

The Showpark Summer Festival was held at the Del Mar Horse Park in Del Mar, CA, where many of Karen Healey's students competed. Mackenzie Baker showed Kona in the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and placed second, and rode Cruise Master to a first place in the Modified Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers and a second in the Modified Jr./AO Classic. Baker also rode Tolstoy in the CPHA Medal and placed third.

Alexandra Block earned the championship honors in the Large Junior Hunter 16-17 this weekend after placing first, second, second, third, fourth in the division and fifth in the Classic with All That. The pair placed third in the ASPCA Maclay, and All That showed in the Modified Hunters with assistant trainer Tasha Visokay and placed first, second, third and third.

Along with her ride on All That, Tasha Visokay showed her own horse Conroy to a first place in the Eight-Year-Old Young Jumper Classic and the 1.40m Jumpers, and she had a win in the 1.30m Jumpers on Fred Bauer's horse Roma M.

Jocelyn Neff did well in the jumpers and equitation this weekend. Neff placed third in the High Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classic with Blue Shot Baco, placed third overall and won the hunter phase of the WIHS Equitation Classic with Allegro, and was third in the Platinum Performance/USEF Show Jumping Talent Search.

Kristi Siam continued a successful year with her horse Krosus, earning the championship in the Low Amateur-Owner Hunters after winning all five of the division's classes. Siam and Krosus also won the Ariat National Adult Medal, were third in the USEF Adult Medal, and placed second in two of the Modified Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter classes.

Fred Bauer showed his horse Roma M in the jumpers this week and did very well. The pair has placed second, first and third in the Low Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Classics at the last three shows that they have been to, and this week they placed third in the Classic, along with a third-place finish in the 1.30m Jumpers.

Holly Dickinson showed in the equitation with Beckham over the weekend. Dickinson placed second in the WCE, third in the Equitation 15-17 over fences, and fifth overall in the WIHS Equitation Classic after finishing third in the hunter phase.

Theo Boris showed in the WIHS Equitation Classic, placing fourth overall, along with a third in the WCE riding Du Calme. In the jumpers, Boris rode Siendifie to third and fifth-place ribbons in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers.

Other top Showpark riders include Elizabeth Dickinson, who won in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers with Akkro, and Hannah Selleck, who won in the USEF Adult Medal.

Karen Healey riders also showed at the Gold Coast Series '5' Horse Show at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank, CA, this weekend. Haley Harrison won the ASPCA Maclay on her sister Samantha's horse Triple Lutz and placed third in the Rosewood and fifth and sixth in the Equitation 11 and Under over fences riding Lanzelot.

Michelle Morris was champion in the Equitation 18-35, winning all three classes on her horse Conrad in his return to the show ring after several years. Morris also placed fourth in the WCE riding Bergerac.

Karen Healey student Samantha Harrison will be competing at the Adequan FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships, presented by Gotham North, in Lexington, KY, this week.
