The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) held the drawing for the 15 winners of its annual Saddlebred Raffle last week, and on Thursday night, August 27, at Louisville, Kentucky's Freedom Hall during the Kentucky State Fair World Championship Horse Show (WCHS), the lucky winners drew to find out how much money they had won, with prize amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000.

The winners of this year's raffle, and the corresponding prize amounts are as follows:

$5,000 – Rachel Machamer (GA)

$2,500 – Cedric Dupont (TX)
$2,000 – Nona Scoville (WI)
$1,500 – Martin McFly (CA)
$1,000 – Barbara Annes & Darlene Gould (Ontario)
$1,000 – Kathryn Nichols (GA)

The annual raffle is one of ASHA's most important fund-raisers. Only 400 tickets are sold worldwide, at $100 each, for gross proceeds of $40,000. Of that, $20,000 goes into the Saddlebred Futures Fund, and $20,000 of it is returned to winners in cash prizes. The Grand Prize is $5,000, with two prizes of $2,500 each, one each of $2,000 and $1,500, three of $1,000 each, and seven of $500.

ASHA is organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Association’s Kentucky License for the annual raffle is Number 0557.
