Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Eventing Developing Rider program is instrumental in identifying and fostering up-and-coming Eventing riders in the United States. It has undergone some changes over the last year to continue to build a foundation for the future.
Horse/rider combinations will be selected to participate in one two-day training session with Capt. Mark Phillips, which may be held in conjunction with the High Performance Training List sessions. In order to participate, riders may submit an application or be nominated by one of the talent spotters and approved by the Eventing High Performance Committee. After the initial training sessions, some exceptional riders may be invited to participate in further training sessions with the High Performance List riders.
In the fall of 2008, the Eventing High Performance Committee named eight people from across the US to serve as talent spotters. The 2010 Talent Spotters are:

The Developing Rider program is open to riders of any age who aspire to compete at the highest levels of the sport. To be eligible to apply, horse/rider combination must have completed a CCI2*, riders may be identified by a talent spotter regards of the highest level they have competed. Precedence is given to riders without prior team experience.
Riders selected to participate in these training sessions will become eligible for the Amanda Warrington Fund Grant. This $5,000 Grant will be awarded to a rider recommended by Mark Phillips and approved by the Amanda Warrington Fund Grant Committee.
