Some of the world’s most stunning horses arrive next month in Fort Worth, TX, for the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association’s (IALHA) 2009 National Championship Horse Show. Hundreds of Andalusian and Lusitano horses from the United States, Canada and Mexico, along with their owners, riders, exhibitors and trainers, will gather October 12-17 for show competition, exhibitions and clinics at the popular Will Rogers Equestrian Center show venue.

Affectionately known as the "Horse of Kings," the versatile Andalusian and Lusitano horses, relatively rare in the United States, are internationally known for their striking beauty, elegant movement, and unique ability to excel in numerous equine disciplines.

The six-day national championship show is the culmination of regional shows held during the year, and features many of the top Spanish-bred horses from across North America. Championship competitions will be held at various times during the week, along with numerous educational clinics and exhibitions.

Regular show class competitions include halter, driving, hunt seat, dressage, saddle seat, show hack, Western pleasure, reining, Doma Vaquera, and costume.

A Saturday evening Extravaganza show will include an exciting line-up of equestrian entertainment, including a classical exhibition by Medieval Times, dancing stallions, jousting, Dan Keen Horsemanship, a bullfighting demonstration, grand prix dressage musical freestyles, and the Prime Time Express mounted drill team.
