Olympian and international dressage rider Lisa Wilcox turned in an all-American ride at the Gold Coast Fall Fling show, winning the Grand Prix aboard Ingred Lin’s Lusitano Quemacho Hi. The Grand Prix was sponsored by The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center, and Quemacho Hi won a beautiful Sanctuary signature orange embroidered polar fleece cooler and a $250 gift certificate for services at The Sanctuary.

Wilcox and Quemacho Hi earned a score of 64.043% in the grand prix class, which was judged by Marianne Ludwig. Wilcox has also found success on Lin’s Lusitano stallion Queba HM. Lin owns White Fences Equestrian Center in Loxahatchee, the original home of the Palm Beach Derby in the mid 80’s.

As one of America's leading international competitors, Wilcox was a member of the Silver-medal winning U.S. Dressage Team at the 2002 FEI World Equestrian Games, where she also finished fifth individually. In 2003, she won an Individual Silver medal at the Open European Championships and the next year was a member of America's Bronze medal-winning dressage team at the 2004 Olympic Games.

Wilcox has trained with some of the best dressage trainers in the world, including Herbert Rehbein and Ernst Hoyos. While in Europe, she earned success with numerous horses, including her two well-known partners Rohdiamant and her Olympic mount Relevant. Wilcox returned to Florida in 2006 and is now based out of Tuny Page’s Stillpoint Farm in Wellington.

The Sanctuary, which sponsored the grand prix class, was pleased with Wilcox’s win. “The Sanctuary is excited to be sponsoring the Wellington dressage shows and it was wonderful to have a high-profile rider like Lisa win the class. Having horses Lisa rides wear our orange Sanctuary coolers is a great thing,” said Brenda McDuffee, General Manager of The Sanctuary. “Orange is our signature color at The Sanctuary as it is associated with the sun, health, healing and is a vibrant color that represents energy.”

High performance competitors, including top dressage horses, are using The Sanctuary’s facilities for rehab, post-surgery rehab, conditioning, fitness and training. “The Sanctuary is well-suited for treating medical conditions that often face dressage horses,” McDuffee said. “The conditions we have seen the most in dressage horses have been hind end problems or weaknesses and suspensory injuries and The Sanctuary has many therapies that address these injuries and targets specific problems.”

The Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation Center, located on 30 pristine acres in Ocala, FL, is a world-class, multi-million dollar facility dedicated to the healing, conditioning and well being of all equine athletes.
