Congratulations to the winner of the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Youth Sportsman’s Award, Amanda Horn, and runner-up, Seraphin Michael Millon. Horn will be presented an award at the USHJA Annual Meeting at the Evening of Equestrians dinner on Tuesday, December 8. As the USHJA nominee, Horn’s application has been selected by the USHJA and recommended to USEF to compete for the USEF Youth Sportsman’s Award.

As a National Affiliate Award winner she will be recognized during the USEF Annual Meeting and invited to a career workshop (meals and accommodations provided) in Lexington, KY. The workshop will be an opportunity for the youth to learn about different career opportunities within the equine industry, visit area horse farms, and meet some professionals in the equine industry.

Horn will be considered for the overall winner of the USEF Youth Sportsman’s Award. The winner will receive a trophy, a $1,000 scholarship to be paid to the educational program of their choice and a lifetime membership to USEF (valued at $2,500). In addition, the name of the award winner will be submitted as a candidate for the USEF Junior Equestrian of the Year Award.
