Looking to participate in one of the United States Eventing Association's (USEA) many programs? Check out the newest calendar additions for the following series, with more dates to be added in the coming months.

Spalding Labs/USEA Young Event Horse Series
The USEA Spalding Labs Young Event Horse (YEH) Series may be best described as an equine talent search. The series gives owners and breeders the opportunity to showcase the potential of their four- and five-year-old horses while encouraging them to produce top-level event horses for the future.

Young Event Horse classes focus on education and preparation of the event horse in a correct and progressive manner. Youngsters are asked to complete three sections: Conformation and Type; Dressage; and Jumping/Suitability and Potential. The ultimate goal of the Young Event Horse Series is to choose the youngster that possesses the talent and mind set, and who with proper training, will excel in the uppermost levels of the eventing world.

While the ultimate goal is to identify the future four-star horses, it is also hoped that many fine event horses who will excel at the lower levels will also be showcased.

The Irish Draught Horse Society of North America (IDHSNA)/USEF Future Event Horse (FEH) program serves as a "stepping stone" to the YEH program. This series focuses on yearlings, two-, and three-year-olds, who are all shown on the "triangle," a popular format for sport horse breed shows and inspections. Horses are judged on their conformation and type as well as the quality and correctness of their gaits.

Experience is one of the many perks that the FEH program has. Over the past three years, hundreds of young horses across the country have competed in this unique series, giving their owners the chance to give their babies valuable show experience as well as provide marketability of sale horses and breeding programs.

Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series
Now in its fifth year, the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series is an exciting format of competition and entertainment for U.S. eventing, encompassing eight of the top eventing competitions from around the U.S. where the best of the best vie for prize money, trophies, and the title of Gold Cup Champion.

Horses and riders must achieve points together as a pair at the Gold Cup events, and both must be members of the USEA. First-place winners take home 200 points for their win, and can also earn bonus points: 50 extra points for double-clear cross-country rounds, and 40 extra points for double-clear show jumping rounds.
