English Riding Supply Celebrates 11th Year as USEF Sponsor

by Sarah Lane | Apr 27, 2005, 1:53 PM

Lexington, KY – For decades, the company now known as English Riding Supply has been in step with the United States Equestrian Federation’s mission to develop the world’s talented young equestrians. The exclusive distributor of Pessoa Saddles in the United States, English Riding Supply continues its sponsorship with the USEF and the National Hunter Seat Medal Finals—a sponsorship now eleven years strong.

“This is without a doubt one of the most prestigious classes in America,” says Peggy Murray, spokeswoman for English Riding Supply. “You can’t put a value on the medal finals—it’s an essential developmental building block in American riding. One of the best parts for me is that all the riders are on equal footing when it comes down to the final competition. You have kids from rural Kansas and kids from big cities, and they all work to prove themselves, jumping the same jumps. Year after year, the USEF and the medal finals showcase junior riders who go on to do great things in the equestrian world.”

English Riding Supply and Pessoa continue to align themselves with these up-and-coming young riders, with a pledge of support to the USEF and the medal finals through 2008. As always, skillfully crafted Pessoa saddles will be awarded to the winners each year, the highlight of a weekend that shines a spotlight on everyone who competes.

“It’s not always easy to get to there,” adds Murray. “A lot of sacrifices have to be made and a lot of passion is involved. We work with the USEF to make sure that everyone who rides is rewarded in some way, whether it be a t-shirt, a bag of goodies, or some kind of souvenir. The whole weekend is really something to remember.”
