With the start of the new year comes the start of the 2010 horse show season. Langer Equestrian Group (LEG Up) are jumping into the year with the LAEC Opener (January 22-24), a three-day USEF A-rated show. In addition to a full complement of rated hunter and jumper classes, equitation riders will find all levels of medals. New this year are Academy and Opportunity sections for entry level riders. It is easier for trainers to bring all levels of riders to the LAEC Opener. For entry blanks, schedules, and more information, visit www.langershows.com/laec/show_details.php?show_id=145.

Verdugo Hills 1 (January 30-31) is the first of the re-formatted hunter/jumper shows at the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center. Based on feedback from exhibitors, Langer Equestrian Group has made changes to meet your needs, starting with lower prices. All classes are $25 each. Open hunter classes are scheduled for Saturday afternoon, while all the junior, amateur, and jumper classes are on Sunday. Come for the weekend or come for the day. The shows are approved by USEF, USHJA, PCHA, LAHJA (A & B), and SFHJA, and feature all levels of classes. The Colorado and Woodside series of shows will start later in the spring.
