by By the United States Eventing Association | Jan 14, 2010, 10:49 AM

The first Spalding Labs/United States Eventing Association (USEA) Young Event Horse (YEH) competition of the year is being held February 3 in sunny Ocala, FL. The competition will run in conjunction with the YEH judging seminar at the beautiful Longwood Farm. This is the first in a series of three YEH competitions offered this winter in Florida. The next venue will be Rocking Horse Stables on February 27 with the final series competition at the Florida Horse Park on March 9. The March competition will also include a special division called Just-For-Funners, which will be open to horses of all ages.

Get qualified for the YEH Championships early and have the rest of the season to perfect your young horse’s footwork. As per the YEH guidelines the jumps will be lower and inviting as it is very early in the season. All horses will be allowed to school the water jump before the jumping portion begins. For more details on the competitions please go to the YEH calendar page, or visit the New Spring Farm website at www.newspringfarm.com/yeh/index.html.
