Olympian Bernie Traurig, one of the most respected and sought-after clinicians in the country, will be offering a clinic at the Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, in Ocala on February 5-7. Presented by Global Connection, a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Horses and Heroes.

The legendary Traurig, who represented the United States Equestrian Team both at home and abroad, reached the top of the sport in all three of the international equestrian Olympic disciplines—show jumping, dressage, and eventing. Traurig’s resume is vast, including winning over 60 show jumping grand prix, representing the United States eight times in World Cup Finals, being inducted into the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame and being short listed in dressage for the World Championship Trials and the Olympic Games.

“This is an amazing opportunity for riders to learn from one of the world’s greatest masters of equestrian sport,” said Brenda McDuffee, General Manager of the Sanctuary. “Bernie has competed at the top of the sport in dressage, hunters, jumpers and eventing. We really couldn’t ask for a more talented and legendary clinician.”

McDuffee added that everyone will also get a chance to meet Traurig at the welcome party on Saturday night and enjoy great food, drinks, live music and a silent auction. Tickets for the Saturday night party are $35 if purchased by February 5 and $40 on the day of the event. “In addition, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Horses and Heroes, so the entire weekend will be great fun, educational and benefit a worthy cause.”

Traurig brings 53 years of experience to the clinic, which will be held at the state-of-the-art Sanctuary Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, a multi-million dollar facility dedicated to the healing, conditioning and well-being of all equine athletes. “The Sanctuary features some of the most advanced conditioning and rehab equipment in the world,” McDuffee said. “Our advanced conditioning and rehab equipment helps equine athletes in all disciplines stay fit, avoid injury, and recover faster and more completely from injuries they might experience when competing in intense and physically demanding sports.”
