Lexington, KY – After an illustrious career in judging and competition management, the well-respected Karen Homer-Brown will be expanding her service to the sport horse industry yet again, as she takes on the title of Assistant Executive Director of National Sport Programs at the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).

“I’m thrilled to be on board at the USEF," says Homer-Brown. "This is a chance to better serve the industry in which I have devoted a large portion of my life. I’ve enjoyed participation from the grass roots to the national level which gives me a good foundation for dialogue with our members on all levels of the sport. This is an exciting time at USEF and I’m looking forward to being part of the momentum.”

Homer-Brown will serve as Assistant Executive Director of the Breeds and Western and Hunter Disciplines. In her new role she will develop new programs, enhance existing ones, and support the National Affiliates Working Group. She will be focused on listening to and addressing the needs of the USEF National membership.

“We couldn’t have found a better fit than the one we found in Karen,” says USEF Chief Executive Officer John Long. “She shares our vision for moving equestrian sport forward and she’s been well connected in the industry for so many years. She truly understands the needs of our members and I’m confidant she will take our National Sport Programs to a new level.”

Outside of the office, Homer-Brown will continue to judge at competitions as well as develop and conduct national and international seminars and judging clinics. She has also conducted clinics in conjunction with the Canadian Equestrian Federation, American Driving Society, American Morgan Horse Association, American Miniature Horse Association and the USEF (National Show Horse and Applicant Judging). Homer-Brown is a graduate of Villanova University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
