The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows return to Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY, May 11-23. The two-week long horse show features top-notch hunter-jumper competition at one of the country's most beautiful equestrian training centers.

The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows are excited to announce a continued partnership with the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Komen Greater NYC). Komen for the Cure is the world's leading non-profit organization dedicated to curing breast cancer. For the second year in a row, a portion of all ticket sales from this year's Spring Horse Shows will benefit Komen Greater NYC.

In addition, the Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows will also benefit Pegasus Therapeutic Riding, whose mission is to provide the therapeutic benefits of horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities to physically, emotionally, and developmentally challenged individuals at facilities and stables in the states of Connecticut and New York.

"We are very much looking forward to the return of our Spring Horse Shows," said Scott Hakim, President of Old Salem Farm. "Old Salem Farm has a long and cherished history in the hunter-jumper world, and we are excited to be continuing that legacy into 2010. I hope everybody, both riders and spectators alike, will be able to join us for the 2010 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows."

Over the years, Old Salem Farm has played host to Selection Trials for U.S. Teams for World Championships and Olympic Games. Following last year's multi-million dollar renovations, Old Salem Farm now has a state-of-the-art stabling facility to go with its outstanding show and schooling rings, all surrounded by one of the nation's most quaint and picturesque settings.

Old Salem Farm boasts its historic pristine grass Grand Prix field as well as three all-weather outdoor rings, all which will be in full use during its Spring Horse Shows.

The 2010 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows will feature the $40,000 Old Salem Farm Grand Prix, $75,000 Empire State Grand Prix, $25,000 North Salem Grand Prix, as well as a $15,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic part of the Cavalor Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series, $5,000 Devoucoux Hunter Derby, $10,000 United States Hunter Jumper Association International Hunter Derby, and the $10,000 Cavalor Leading Hunter Rider Award.

In exciting performances during last year's Grand Prix events, two-time Olympic Gold medalist McLain Ward of Brewster, NY, and mount, Phillipa, an 11-year-old chestnut mare owned by Sagamore Farm won the $40,000 Old Salem Farm Grand Prix while Irishman Darragh Kerins with Night Train, owned by the Double H Farm of Wellington, FL, won the $25,000 Grand Prix of North Salem, and Alexa Weeks and Madison were victorious in the $75,000 Empire State Grand Prix.

The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows also feature non-equestrian activities, including the fun and popular Canine Puissance, co-sponsored by The Pooch Paddock, the onsite doggy daycare service. The Puissance takes place on Friday, May 14, and is open to all dogs and includes three size sections—small, medium and large with $500 in prize money for each section.

Old Salem Farm is located one hour north of New York City. In addition to its year-long horse show series that includes more than 20 horse shows in addition to its flagship spring horse shows, it maintains state-of-the-art stabling facilities for year-round boarding.
