Showplace Productions is pleased to announce an additional third week of competition for its Spring Spectacular Series with an exciting and unique new format. The Spring Spectacular III will feature the $100,000 Showplace Challenge Cup, a "world Cup" format multi-phase event for High Junior/Amateur-Owner, Low Junior/Amateur-Owner, Children's/Adult, Low Children's/Adult, and Modified Jumpers. The Cup will be held the first three days of the Spectacular III—Monday, June 21, through Wednesday, June 23. The Spectacular series begins with the Spring Spectacular I on June 8 and is held at the Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, IL.

"This is going to be a very special week, and we are looking forward to doing something different for our competitors," said Showplace Production's Pat Boyle. "The Challenge Cup will give the riders an opportunity to experience the exciting World Cup format, and the finals will be very competitive as exhibitors attempt to jump clean in each round and carry their points forward. As a brand new addition to the year's lineup, everyone at Showplace Productions is very excited for this fun week of competition."

The phases of the Challenge Cup are pinned independently and riders are able to post additional North American League, Mashall & Sterling, and Washington International Horse Show points to supplement their winnings from Spectacular I and II. Three qualifying classes will be held at the beginning of the week leading up to the Challenge Cup Finals on Wednesday. Two classes will be held on Monday, with the third class featured on Tuesday. Faults incurred during only the first round of each of these classes will count towards rider standings, and will carry forward to determine the order of go for Wednesday's championships. All classes will be held in Lamplight's expansive Grand Prix ring, which features new footing for 2010.

Monday and Tuesday's classes will each offer a $2,500 purse. Wednesday's Challenge Cup Finals for the Low Children's/Adult and Modified Jumpers will offer $5,000. The Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers and Children's/Adult Jumpers will each offer $10,000. High Junior/Amateur- Owner Jumpers will show in their $15,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Challenge Cup Finals on Tuesday.

Showplace Productions will also host a $30,000 Open Jumper Grand Prix to conclude the Showplace Spring Spectacular Series on Wednesday, June 23.
