Dressage
Competition was underway on both coasts this week with the CDI3*/Y/J Burbank, CA (Festival of the Horse) and the Dressage at Equestrian Estates in Loxahatchee, FL. Jan Ebeling dominated the Grand Prix in Burbank, coming in first on Rafalca and second on Sandrina. Guenter Seidel and U II were third. In the Grand Prix Special it was Seidel who triumphed with a score of 69.875%, narrowly beating out Ebeling and Rafalca. Ebeling and Sandrina finished the weekend strong with a win in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 70.850%, Jo Moran and Minna finished second with 65.800%. On the small tour, Steffen Peters was aboard Pallas for the win in both the Prix St. Georges and the Intermediaire I tests. Marisa Festerling and Big Tyme came in second to Peters in both classes and took the win in the freestyle with a score of 71.750%.

At the Dressage at Equestrian Estates, Tina Konyot and Calecto V took home the blue ribbon in the Grand Prix; Arlene Page and Alina were second and won the Grand Prix Special on Sunday. The Prix St. Georges was won by Caroline Roffman and Bulari 5. Lynda Alicki and Donates triumphed in both the Intermediaire I and Intermediaire I Freestyle.

Eventing
Event riders heading to the 2010 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Bridgestone got a final chance to test their mettle this weekend at The Fork. In the CIC3* Buck Davidson and Allison Springer were tied after dressage on 36.9, but after Davidson and My Boy Bobby had four time penalties in cross-country, Springer and Arthur led going into the final phase. After a textbook clear round from My Boy Bobby, Arthur pulled a rail at fence seven, giving Davidson and My Boy Bobby their second consecutive win at The Fork. Phillip Dutton and Truluck were third.

Jumping
Margie Engle had a very successful week at the Tampa Bay Classic, bringing home the win in both grand prix. On Thursday, Engle guided Hidden Creek's Pamina L to the victory in the $30,000 Tampa Bay Welcome Stake. In the $50,000 FEI World Cup Qualifier on Sunday Engle and Indigo triumphed over the Michel Vaillancourt course. Only six horses made it to the jump-off round and Engle was able to put in a clean round to beat out Leslie Howard and Raimond W. Richard Spooner and Ace finished third. The Tampa Bay Classic wraps up with the $200,000 Gene Mische American Invitational on April 10.

Sunday's qualifier was the last chance for rider's to earn a trip to Geneva, Switzerland for the Rolex FEI World Cup Final set to take place April 14-18. On April 2, west coast riders had their final qualifier in San Juan Capistrano, CA where Joie Gatlin was able to secure her spot.

Vaulting
U.S. vaulter Annalise Van Vraken made the journey to Saumur, France well worth it, finishing second in the CVIO2* Saumur held April 2-4. One of few U.S. vaulters that hails from the East coast, Van Vraken scored a 7.434 in the Compulsory and a 7.650 in the Technical round. Van Vraken is currently ranked forth on the ranking list for vaulters working to qualify for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, the top three individual females and top three individual males will represent the U.S. at the Games.
