Dressage
Competition took place on the West coast at the Golden State Dressage Festival CDI3*/Y/J. Mette Rosencrantz and Finally took home wins in the Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I.

Driving
Under blue skies at the Carolina Horse Park the fifth selection trials for the 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games took place as part of the Southern Pines CDE. In the Four-In-Hand Joe Yoder guided Mark Schmidt’s Warmblood team to their first win of the year. Yoder was impressive in the marathon, winning by 12 points with a score of 92.14. The cones proved to be a little bit trickier for Yoder and his team, but they were able to hold on for the win. Bill Long finished second and Eugene Hug rounded out the top three.

In the Single Horse division Kate Shields and Hasting Winslow were victorious, Bill Peacock was second and Leslie Berndl was third.

Endurance
Endurance riders turned in fast times this weekend at the Git-R-Done II CEI held in Inyokern, CA. In the 160km distance Jeremy Reynolds aboard Sir Smith was first with a time of 8:06. Sir Smith also took home the coveted Best Condition award.

In the 120km, Ceci Butler Stasiuk rode DJB K de Cielo to a first place finish with a time of 5:59. Tim Reynolds and Ssamiam took second, Ssamiam was awarded Best Condition.

At the 90km distance Jason Stasiuk and KJB KD Fantasia finished first with a time of 5:08. Best Condition went to Greenbriar Al Jabal ridden by Tony Benedetti.

Jumping
Wrapping up two weeks of competition at the Tampa Bay Classic, the Gene Mische American Invitational took place under the lights of Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL. Only three riders made it to the jump-off over the Steve Stephens course, Jeffery Welles and long-time partner Armani jumped clean and fast to take home the blue ribbon and $60,000 in prize money. Peter Leone and Select left all the rails up, but were a mere half a second off Welles’ time to finish second. Welles has placed second in this prestigious Invitational twice, but this marked his first win.
