The 2010 Kentucky International Equine Summit is a biennial event on Monday and Tuesday, April 26 and 27, in Lexington, KY, sponsored by the University of Louisville Equine Industry Program in cooperation with the University of Kentucky Equine Initiative. The Summit will take place at the Lexington Downtown Hilton and will feature more than 70 speakers and panelists dealing with a range of future challenges facing segments of the international and domestic horse industry. This year the Summit is entering a partnership with HorseTV to provide a live video feed of all subject tracks over the internet.

The Summit is designed to bring together industry leaders to discuss and relate common issues and try to find solutions from within the industry. It is essentially a week-long conference condensed to two days with sessions running concurrently. The hope is that by broadcasting the Summit live it has the chance to make an even greater impact on the industry by reaching those that are unable to attend in person.

“The Summit was one of the inspirations for H-Span,” said HorseTV chairman Bernard Uechtritz in a news release. “It was a tremendous contribution to the industry.”

This partnership between the Kentucky International Equine Summit and HorseTV was created in an attempt to broaden the number of horse enthusiasts that may benefit from the dialog at the Summit. Videos of the 2008 Kentucky International Equine Summit are available now on H-Span, a digital channel established by HorseTV, but for the first time a feed will be streamed live over the internet so that everyone has the chance to be a part of this informative event.
