The U.S. team will work together to defend their Team Gold medal from the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games from increasing pressure from highly sophisticated teams from Europe, South America, Australia, Canada and Mexico, plus top 30 riders in the team competitions at the WEG advance to the Individual Medals.

In addition to Official USEF Selection Trial for the Adequan U.S. Reining Team, the Battle in the Saddle will also offer the concurrent USEF Open Reining Championship and CRI4*. The Adequan/USEF Open Reining Championship is open to any rider on the USEF Reining Long List and the CRI4* (also concurrent) is available for any FEI High Performance competitor from around the globe.

Reminder to Reining Young Riders
Reminder to all interested Reining Young Riders—the final day of qualifying for the USEF Youth Reining National Championship is May 15. All qualifying points earned at qualifying classes around the country will be cut off on May 15, with any points earned from May 16 forward going towards next year’s championship. In order to compete for the National Championship title in one of the three age divisions (13 & Under, 14-18 and 19-21) riders must have earned their way into the top 20 of their respective division. The USEF Youth Reining National Championship is held at the NRHA Derby on June 26th along with a concurrent CRI-Y class, which will serve as a Selection Trial for the hugely popular SmartPak Reining Championships at the Adequan FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North.
