HITS, Inc., is pleased to announce the dates for two, new rated one-day shows that are conveniently scheduled in between Weeks IV and VI of the Summer Series at HITS-on-the-Hudson in Saugerties, NY. The 2010 HITS Saugerties Tuesday Series will take place on Tuesday, July 27, and Tuesday, August 3.

The schedule for the HITS Saugerties Tuesday Series includes qualifying classes for the year-end Finals for the M&S Medal, PHA Medal, USEF Hunter Seat Medal, ASPCA Horsemanship, WIHS Medal (Hunter and Jumper Phases), USEF Talent Search, as well as classes for Level 3 and 4 Jumpers.

The addition of these two new Tuesday shows also offers riders the opportunity to accrue more points for $10,000 Platinum Performance Equitation Challenge, which will take place during Week VI at HITS-on-the-Hudson.

The Platinum Performance Equitation Challenge is open to junior riders who have finished in the top six in any of the aforementioned medals at not only Tuesday I and Tuesday II, but also HITS-on-the-Hudson IV, V, and VI.

Set over a medal-type course, the first round of the Platinum Performance Equitation Challenge will pose eight to 10 challenging 3'6" obstacles. The top 12 riders based on first-round performance will then be called back to compete over a second-round course. The trainers who coach the top three riders to victory will split the $10,000 Platinum Performance Trainer Award. "

"Offering some recognized classes on a Tuesday during the summer allows competitors the occasion to practice and accumulate points on a day where they don't normally have that chance," said Tom Struzzieri, HITS President and CEO. "Not only do the two new Tuesday shows give riders the opportunity to qualify for year-end finals, but they also provide a chance to accumulate additional points to qualify for the Platinum Performance Equitation Challenge and its $10,000 Trainer Award. We are already seeing strong support for this addition to the summer schedule and we expect these to be popular shows with our customers."

Just as equitation riders have their fair share of opportunities to take advantage of at Tuesday I and II, so too will those looking to gain more experience for themselves or their horses in the Level 3 and Level 4 Jumper divisions. Both the Level 3 and 4 Jumper divisions will take place in the same exquisite Strongid® C 2X Grand Prix Stadium as the unprecedented Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prix on September 12, 2010. These classes can be beneficial for both riders and horses, as it gives both the utmost competitive advantage heading into the remainder of the HITS-on-the-Hudson Summer Series. Competing in a ring of such magnificence will undoubtedly aid horses and riders as they acclimate to the riding conditions in the Strongid® Stadium.

Whether looking for additional points headed into the indoor season, additional experience in a beautiful and expansive ring, or qualifying points for the Platinum Performance Equitation Challenge—Tuesday I and II is the place to be in between HITS IV, V, and VI.
