Many items are needed for the 2005 Annual ASHA Auction, which will take place Wednesday, August 24, and Thursday, August 25, at the Executive West Hotel during the Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show.

Last year more than $40,000 was raised as a result of donated items, such as a Tommy Lovell rocking horse, a personalized James Crow charcoal portrait, sculptures and more, being auctioned off during the silent and live auctions.

This year the silent auction will take place in the Mary Room of the hotel on Wednesday, August 24, and will continue Thursday, August 25. The live auction will begin Thursday afternoon at 1.

“This is one of our most important fundraisers of the year for the Association’s youth scholarship program and other ASHA youth programs,” ASHA Executive Secretary Alan F. Balch said. “We are very thankful to all of the patrons who donate items to the cause.”

As a new addition, $1,000 will be given to one of the registered bidders. Bidders must be 18 or older to be eligible for the $1,000 raffle.

The donation form can be downloaded online at www.saddlebred.com/auction.pdf. To make a donation or for sponsorship information, contact Jennifer Mellenkamp, ASHA Program Administrator, by calling (859) 259-2742, ext. 343, or e-mail [email protected].~~~
