Jumping

In Canada, competition continued at Spruce Meadows with the Canada One Tournament. On Friday, US riders swept the $31,000 WestJet Cup - Charlie Jayne and Athena won, Reed Kessler and Mika were second, and Mario Deslauriers and Urico were third. Deslauriers and Urico went two better on Saturday to the win the $31,000 Talisman Energy Cup.

Beezie Madden and Coral Reef Via Volo were the big money winners over the weekend, blazing to the win in the $50,000 RBC Cup on Saturday and jumping clean for the win in the $65,000 ESSO Challenge on Sunday.

Leslie Howard and Raimond W won the $31,000 Duncan Ross Jumper Cup on Friday. Howard followed up on Sunday with another win aboard Jeans Glove Varnel in the $20,000 West Canadian Cup.

This week the North American Tournament will take place, featuring the $200,000 ATCO Power Queen Elizabeth II Cup as well as the $175,000 Mercedes-Benz Classic. For complete information and results please click here.

In France at the CSI3* Sandillon, Candice King won the 1.35m Prix Houry Fleurs aboard Skara Glen's Naiky D'Elc.

Competing in Austria at the CSI3*Wiener Neustadt, Jennifer Jones was third with Winette on the Young Horse Tour, the pair went one better for second in the Young Horse Tour Finale on Saturday.

The fifth leg of the Meydan FEI Nations Cup Tour will take place this Friday, July 9, at the CSIO5* Falsterbo in Sweden. The US currently sits third in the standings after their impressive win Rotterdam. Falsterbo marks the Third Tour for the US riders and a new group of horses and riders will represent the US at CSIO5* Falsterbo, SWE (July 8-11); CSIO5* Hickstead, GBR (July 22-25) and CSIO5* Dublin, IRL (August 4-8).

These riders are: McLain Ward and Sagamore Farm's Rothchild, Rich Fellers and Mollie and Harry Chapman's Flexible, Todd Minikus and Todd Minikus, LTD's Pavarotti, Cara Raether and Trelawny Farm's Ublesco and Bob Kraut on Meghan Kraut's Graf Lando.

The USEF National Open Reining Championships are underway as well and along with a National title, selection for the Adequan US Reining Team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games is on the line.
