Dressage

In the CDI3* which took place in scenic Vierzon, France, Katherine Bateson-Chandler and Nartan scored a 67.574% for a second place finish in the Grand Prix. Kenneth Dyrby finished fourth with Rholex and seventh with Nanette. In the Grand Prix Special, Bateson-Chandler was fourth and Dyrby was fifth with Rholex. Dyrby rode Nanette in the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle and was second. For complete results please click here.

Catherine Haddad and her new partner Winyamaro competed at the World Dressage Masters at Falsterbo, finishing fourth in the Grand Prix Special. For complete results, please click here.

Jumping

The summer series at Spruce Meadows wrapped up this week with the North American Tournament. Kicking off the competition in the International Ring on Wednesday, Ashlee Bond and Chivas Z bested 66 entries for the win in the $31,000 AON Risk Services Cup. Finishing off the day Marilyn Little-Meredith and Blue Curacao took their first Spruce Meadows win in the $31,000 Enerflex Cup. Friday saw Charlie Jayne and Urbanus win the $50,000 Lafarge Cup.

On Saturday competition began in the International Ring with the $75,000 TD Cup, where Young Rider Karl Cook and Notories Utopia blazed to the win. Saturday also featured the prestigious $200,000 ATCO Power Queen Elizabeth II Cup (QE II). Eric Lamaze (CAN) took his third QE II win in four years aboard veteran Hickstead. Brianne Goutal, who is just 21-years-old, guided Onira to a close second place finish. Mario Deslauriers and Urico, who won the event last year, were third.

Sunday featured the $175,000 Mercedes-Benz Classic Derby. Little-Meredith and the her nine-year-old mare, Blue Curacao, made it through the grueling derby course with only four faults for the win, finishing just ahead of Lamaze and Atlete Van T Heike, who accumulated five faults.

In Sweden at the CSIO5* Falsterbo, the US team rode to a fifth place finish in the Meydan FEI Nations Cup, maintaining the third spot on the ranking list. For complete results from Falsterbo please click here.

At the CSI4* and 2* Geesteren in The Netherlands, Lauren Hough guided Casadora to a second place finish in the 1.50 Grand Prix Qualifier. On Sunday, Alice Debany rode Walanda to a second place finish in the 1.35m class. In Spain, Peter Wylde won Friday's 1.45m class with Liption De L'Othain.

Riding in Gera, Germany, 17-year-old Lucy Davis captured the win on the Gold Tour's Pries der Duetschen Kreditbank AG aboard Hannah. For complete results, please click here.

Reining

The Adequan/USEF Open Reining Championships, which also served as the USEF Selection Trial for the Adequan US Reining Team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, featured fierce competition with a national title and a ticket to the World Equestrian Games on the line. When the dust settled on Saturday night, Shawn Flarida held on to his lead and had the best two-round total to take top honors.

Flarida rode Buffalo Ranch's RC Fancy Step to a score of 223.5 in the second round, half a point better than his winning round on Thursday. His combined score 446.5 gave him a two point win over Tom McCutcheon, who had the best score of the night with a 225.

Craig Schmersal was third on Boom Shernic, while Tim McQuay rounded out the top four for the US Team on Hollywoodstinseltown, half a point shy of Schmersal's score.

Vaulting

Competing at the CHIO Aachen, US vaulters had a chance to contest against the best in the world. After two rounds of competition, Megan Benjamin finished third in the Individual Female division with a total score of 8.062. The FACE vaulting team finished fifth on 7.244 in the Prize of the Sparkasse.
