by By the American Morgan Horse Association | Jul 22, 2010, 9:29 AM

As completion of the Morgan Horse Pavilion at the Kentucky Horse Park approaches, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held in honor of the progress of the pavilion on July 9, 2010. The ceremony took place during the Bluegrass Morgan Classic Horse Show at the Kentucky Horse Park. Hosting the ceremony during the show allowed many members of the Morgan community an opportunity to view the pavilion.

Prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony, a founders' society reception was held. This closed reception honored those Morgan horse community members who have generously contributed to the Pavilion's capital campaign. The founders' society reception included a preview of the Pavilion's interior. Hardhat tours of the interior also were available for all other Morgan community members and the public following Friday's classes.

Morton Buildings, the construction company for the Morgan Horse Pavilion, reports that the atrium glass, skylight, and entry porch ceiling are completed. The framing and insulation of the pavilion also are finished. Exterior painting is scheduled to be done by the end of this week. The drywalls are 90% and 95% complete on the first and second floors, respectively. Electrical installation and HVAC continues as the construction of the pavilion nears its completion.

The Morgan Horse community encourages everyone be a part of the achievements and progress of the Morgan Horse Pavilion. Please visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFtZrvJMiKE&feature=related to view current construction progress of the Morgan Horse Pavilion.
