U.S. Drivers Named for 2005 World Combined Pony Driving Championships and 2005 World Pair Championships for Horses

Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Executive Committee has approved the following Team and Alternate/Individual drivers to represent the United States at the 2005 World Combined Pony Driving Championships and 2005 World Pair Championships for Horses:

2005 FEI World Combined Pony Driving Championships
Catton Hall, England, July 14-17


Single Pony Drivers: Sara Schmitt of Glen Gardner, NJ and Suzy Stafford of Bear, DE
Alternate/Individual: Muffy Seaton of Bluemont, VA

Pair Pony Drivers: Tracey Morgan of Beallsville, MD and Katie Whaley of Southern Pines, NC
Alternate/Individual: Paul Martin, Jr. of New Holland, PA

Four-in-Hand Drivers: Lisa Stroud of Unionville, PA, Boots Wright of Southern Pines, NC and Elizabeth Keathley of Woodbury, TN

These exceptional equestrians will be supported by team coach Georgina Frith, assistant coach Chester Weber, Dr. Jeannie Waldron, DVM and farrier David Vanderhoof. Almost all of the Pony Team drivers are veterans of the inaugural FEI World Combined Pony Championships, which took place in Karlstetten, Austria in 2003.

September 8-11, Wals-Siezenheim, Austria


Team Drivers: Fritz Grupe of Lodi, CA, Mike McLennan of Brenham, TX and Lisa Singer of Chadds Ford, PA
Alternate/Individual: Alan Aulson of Georgetown, MA

For the first time in history, two members of the American Pairs Team hail from west of the Mississippi. These drivers will be supported by team coach Chester Weber, Dr. Mark Revenaugh DVM, and farrier Dave Vanderhoof.
