Development Manager Begins at American Saddlebred Horse Association

by By Reeves Kirtner, ASHA | Jun 7, 2005, 3:55 AM

Matthew Williams, of Louisville, KY, has been hired by the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) as its development manager, effective Monday, June 6.

Williams will be responsible for increasing revenues for ASHA through the Association’s magazine, American Saddlebred, and its Reference Directory, as well as managing other fundraising events and promotions.

Williams is a graduate of Furman University with a Bachelor’s in communications studies.

Williams has been competing in both equitation and performance for 15 years. He has won numerous world’s championships and reserve world’s championships, as well as two Equitation National Finals. He also competed as captain of the 2002 U.S. World Cup team.

Alan F. Balch, ASHA Executive Secretary, said that with Williams’ knowledge of the breed and love of American Saddlebreds he should be a great addition for the Association.

“Matthew has a great Saddlebred résumé, and I believe he can use his knowledge to help us develop the funds we need to ensure a prosperous future for our breed,” Balch said.~~~
