The USEF Junior Hunter National Championship wrapped today under record temperatures, but the heat did nothing to lower the scores of these top competitors. John and Stephanie Ingram's Red Panda, under the skilled guidance of Hayley Barnhill, captured the title of 2010 USEF Junior Hunter National Champion - East Coast by an impressive 14-point margin. The chestnut gelding is no stranger to the winner's circle having won the East Coast phase in 2008, as well.

The Reserve Champion of the Junior Hunter Finals East Coast was also pulled from the Small Olders. Samantha Schaefer aboard Ashley Toffolon's Castle scored a 644.5 over the two-day competition. The pair impressed the judges with consistent rides throughout the week.

The Small Youngers were won by Caitlin Ziegler and her mount, Safari. The bay gelding scored a 634.5. Way Cool with Victoria Colvin won the Large Youngers and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Oare's Rosalynn won the Large Older section. Taylor Ann Adams said of her mount, Rosalynn, "Isn't she great? I love how hard she tries." The judges did, too, and rewarded the mare with the high score of the Classic - a 271 besting the next highest of the day by 10 points.

The excitement will continue in San Juan Capistrano, CA, on August 17 and 18 with the West Coast phase of the USEF Junior Hunter National Championship.
