Dressage

In Saugerties, NY the Centerline Events at HITS on the Hudson CDI-W took place. Coming off a strong sixth place finish at the National Grand Prix Championships at the 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Dressage Festival of Champions, Jan Ebeling and Rafalca won both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle. Pierre St. Jacques and Lucky Tiger (fifth at the National Grand Prix Championships) took second in both classes.

Heather Mason and Glen Emeril finished just behind Canadian Amanda Holzer in the Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire I and won the Intermediaire I Freestyle with a score of 71.750%.

Jumping

At CSI2* Roggel in The Netherlands, US rider Peter Wylde was successful on multiple horses. With Lipton de l'Ohain he was third in the 1.40m class and second in the 1.45 Small Final. He then finished off the week with Sanctos vh Gravenhof, taking second in the Grand Prix Veko Roggel Beheer BV. Jennifer Jones also made a strong showing, winning the Young Horse class on Friday with Winette.

In Canada, Show Jumping action took place in British Columbia and in Ontario. At CSI2* Fort Langley Summer Classic Tournament in Fort Langley, BC, Jeff Campf and London were victorious in the $20,000 Tommy Bahama Grand Prix.

The CSI2* National Capital Show Jumping Tournament took place in Ottawa, ON. In the $15,000 ATCO Jumping Derby, Mario Deslauriers and Whistler bested 23 entries to take top honors over the Catsy Cruz designed course. Later the same day, Mario's wife Lisa, was third in the $118,000 Angelstone Productions Grand Prix aboard Diablo.

At the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, Eirin Brunheim represented the US on the North/Central America and Caribbean Islands Team. Riding on borrowed horses the team finished sixth overall after two rounds of competition. Individual competition began on Sunday and concluded on Tuesday, after a total of four rounds, Brunheim finished 17th.

Back in the US competition heated up in Kentucky at the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show. Friday night featured a World Cup Qualifier, the $50,000 CSI-W Hagyard Lexington Classic. After only the first four riders went clear, it was Lauren Crooks and Cincinnati La Silla who galloped home to the win in the jump-off. Margie Engle and Indigo were second, Michelle Spadone and Melisimo were third. On Sunday Georgina Bloomberg rode Fiedi 3 to the win in the $30,000 Bluegrass Festival Grand Prix.
