Showplace Fall Classic Championship Horse Show Returns to the Lamplight Equestrian Center in September

Annual Chicago "A" Hunter/Jumper show shares venue with and precedes Kentucky National at Lamplight

Wayne, IL - August 27, 2010 - Showplace Productions, the foremost horse show production and management company in the Midwestern United States, is pleased to announce that the Showplace Fall Classic Championship Horse Show will return to the Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, Illinois for a week of top equestrian competition. Held September 14-19, 2010, the show features "A" rated hunter divisions, four star jumper divisions, and the finals of the $60,000 Showplace Leading Rider Series, IHJA "A" Equitation Medals, and Marshall & Sterling Midwestern League. The annual autumn event held in Chicago's beautiful western suburb of Wayne will for the first time share its venue with the popular Kentucky National Horse Show held the following week.

The Showplace Fall Classic Championship Horse Show is the culmination of Showplace Productions' year long series of horse shows in the Midwest, and the week's competition will feature many exciting highlights. The show will feature the final qualifying classes for the $60,000 Showplace Leading Rider Series, in which $32,500 in jumper money and $27,500 in hunter money will be given to the leading riders in their respective divisions.

Jumper riders will be awarded bonus money in five divisions, which include: $10,000 Leading Open Rider, $10,000 Leading Junior/Amateur-Owner Rider, $7,500 Leading Children's/Adult Rider, $2,500 Leading Modified Children's/Adult Rider, and $2,500 Leading Low Children's/Adult Rider. Hunter riders will receive bonus money in six divisions, including: $5,000 Leading Professional Rider, $5,000 Leading Junior Rider, $5,000 Leading Amateur-Owner Rider, $5,000 Leading Amateur/Adult Rider, $5,000 Leading Children's Rider, and $2,500 Leading Pony Rider.

Along with the excitement of the Leading Rider Series Finals, open jumper riders will be competing for top prize money throughout the week. Riders will have the opportunity to compete in the $10,000 Open Jumper Welcome Stake on Thursday, September 16, as well as the $25,000 Tapestry Farm Grand Prix on Saturday, September 18.

Offering some of the best prize money for junior and amateur riders in the country, the show will feature a $5,000 Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Classic on Thursday, September 16, followed by a $10,000 High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic Show Jumping Hall of Fame Member Event on Friday, September 17.

Other jumper highlights include the $1,500 WIHS Child/Adult Jumper Classic on Thursday, September 16, and the $1,500 NAL Child/Adult Jumper Classic and $1,500 Low Children's and Low Adult Jumper Classics on Friday, September 17.

Each year Showplace Productions has the honor of hosting the Marshall & Sterling and Illinois Hunter Jumper Association (IHJA) Year End Medal Finals. This year the championship horse show will feature the Marshall & Sterling Medal Finals on Saturday, September 18, featuring the $2,500 Marshall & Sterling Children's Jumper Grand Prix and $2,500 Marshall & Sterling Adult Jumper Grand Prix, part of the Marshall & Sterling Mid-West League Championships. The final day of competition on Sunday, September 19 will feature the Illinois Hunter Jumper Association (IHJA) Medal Finals.

Hunter riders will have a great choice of classes and divisions in which to compete as well, with over $10,000 in prize money awarded for all of the hunter classics for the week. On Sunday, September 19, the show will host the $1,000 Marshall & Sterling Children's Hunter Championships and $1,000 Marshall & Sterling Adult Hunter Championships.

Following this exciting week of competition, the Kentucky National Horse Show will be held at the Lamplight Equestrian Center on September 22-26, 2010. "Kentucky at Lamplight" will host the Midwest Maclay Regional Championship on September 26, and Showplace Productions would like to invite all Maclay competitors to come up early to compete at the Fall Classic Championship Horse Show as a great warm-up for the competition. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the show grounds and get one more competition in before the big day.
