Harrisburg, PA - Running one of the most anticipated and successful hunter-jumper horse shows in the country requires a delicate balance of maintaining traditions and infusing change. The 65th Annual Pennsylvania National Horse Show (PNHS), which returns to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Exhibition Center in Harrisburg, PA, October 14-23, is doing just that.
While top-notch equestrian competition featuring ten national championships and over $350,000 in prize money will continue to highlight the show, along with entertaining demonstrations and fantastic shopping opportunities, the PNHS is excited to announce some new changes to this year's show.
"The Pennsylvania National Horse Show prides itself on offering our exhibitors the best possible showing experience," said PNHS President Liz Shorb. "In an effort to meet this goal we have made some improvements to our facility and to the overall exhibitor experience. We are confident that these changes will continue to make our horse show a favorite among riders and trainers alike."
One such change will come in the form of new footing in the show arena. The footing installation will be made by Bart Poel's Equestrian Services International company. Poel's has installed footing at some of the world's top equestrian events including the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong and the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL.
Also new to the Show is this years catering service, Centerplate. Centerplate will be providing healthy food options during the show. It will feature food items such as cereal breakfast bars, fresh fruits, snacks, salads, six different sandwich options, delicious soups, and vegetables.
