Lexington, KY- The U.S. eventing scene shifts its focus back to Lexington, KY this weekend for the USEF National CCI1* Championships as riders from across the country stake their claim on the final championship of the year. Just two weeks after the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, the Kentucky Horse Park is set to showcase some of the best up-and-coming horse and rider combinations in America.

Held in conjunction with the Hagyard Midsouth Three-Day Event & Team Challenge, the competition will run October 20-24, 2010. Champions will be crowned in four divisions; the National CC1* Championship, the National CCI1* Junior Championship, the National CCI1* 19-21 year-old Championship and the National CCI1* Amateur Championship.

Competitors in this year’s field include the 2009 Preliminary Horse Bit of Britain/USEA American Eventing Champions Kristen Rozycki and Full Circle and Reserve Champion from the 2006 National CCI1* Junior Championship Callie Judy. This year Judy will ride her own Sportsfield Rafiki.

Missy Ransehousen, who served as Chef d’Equipe for the Kentucky Equine Research U.S. Para-Equestrian Dressage Team at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, returns to Kentucky with Darren Chiacchia’s eight-year-old Trakehner gelding Fantastik in the CCI1* Championship. Ransehousen also was a member of the US team at the 1995 Pan American Games.

The dressage phase of competition is set to begin Friday October 22.
