Saddlebred Charter Club Conducts Fire Safety & Prevention for Equine Facilities Seminar

Lexington, KY - On Saturday, September 25, the San Antonio Saddle Horse Association offered a Fire Prevention and Safety seminar, specifically with regard to Equine Facilities.

The event, hosted by Michael and Megan Beasom at Victory Lane Farm in Boerne, TX, was conducted by the Boerne Fire Department's Lt. Lyle Mattick and Firefiighter Gerard Silva, and was offered as a public service to both backyard horse enthusiasts and equine professionals alike.

The firefighters conducted a presentation and question and answer session, during which was discussed how to plan ahead for an emergency, both in and around the barn. The seminar included such suggestions as inviting your local fire department out to your barn for a tour.

Said SASHA President, Sandra Arguello, "This visit gave the Firefighters a chance to familiarize themselves with the layout of the barn and surrounding buildings and paddocks and gain some familiarity with the everyday equipment that horse owners take for granted."
