2011 American Hanoverian Society Annual Meeting to Feature Training Symposium with Olympic Bronze Medalist Sue Blinks

Lexington, KY – The American Hanoverian Society (AHS) is pleased to announce that a training symposium entitled “Dressage Through the Levels: Training Level to Grand Prix” conducted by Olympic Bronze Medalist Sue Blinks will be held at the world-class Devonwood Equestrian Centre in Sherwood, OR, on February 5, 2011, in conjunction with the Society’s Annual Membership Meeting. The informative event will demonstrate Hanoverians at each level of dressage while Blinks shares tips, targeted goals and discusses milestones that should be reached as horses advance through the levels.

A highly anticipated event each year, the 2011 AHS Annual Meeting will be held February 4-6 at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower in Portland, OR. The meeting will offer three days of educational programs and seminars on various aspects of the equine industry. Attendees will also be updated on the work of various AHS committees and will have the opportunity to brainstorm marketing ideas. In conjunction with the meeting, a silent auction and catered dinner will be held to honor the Society’s Year-End Awards winners in competition.

The AHS host hotel, the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower, is conveniently located downtown within the heart of the city, only a block from the MAX Light Rail system providing transportation to and from the Portland International Airport in just 30 minutes, as well as surrounding cities. The Hilton Portland & Executive Tower is located within miles from the Rose Garden Arena, Oregon Zoo, Oregon Museum of Science & Industry, Portland Art Museum, Oregon Historical Society, tax-free shopping and dining. Pre-registration for the Saturday Symposium with Sue Blinks is $55 and is open to AHS members and non-members alike. Registration for the entire meeting is $175 and will be open through January 22, with a discounted hotel rate available for reservations until January 20. This fee includes the Sue Blinks Symposium, all educational programs, the awards banquet, and the increasingly famous silent auction, which offers shopping and entertainment. Information on Hanoverian stallions at stud in the U.S. and Hanoverian horses for sale across the country will also be available.
