USEF Launches New Outreach Program; Sends Staff to Work for Competition Organizers

Lexington, KY – As competition organizers and show managers continue to push forward in the 2005 competition season, some United States Equestrian Federation employees will be rolling their sleeves up to work with them. It’s part of a new outreach program, designed to build a productive bridge between the USEF office, show organizers and competitors. In addition to sharing the load for a few days, USEF staff will be able to assess the needs of organizers, and in turn, better assist them in daily USEF operations.

“It is important that USEF employees understand what happens in the field, on the front lines of these competitions,” says John Long, Chief Executive Officer of the USEF. “Through this experience, they can see what issues managers have in their interface with both the USEF and with exhibitors. As we continue with this USEF outreach, we’ll be able to improve our processes to better serve the competition organizers and managers, and most importantly, our members.”

More than one hundred competitions requested USEF staffing for the 2005 competition season; 13 have been selected this year, with plans to more than double that number for 2006.

The following competitions have been selected for 2005:

1. MJMHA Morgan Showtime ’05, East Lansing, MI
2. Indianapolis Charity, Indianapolis, IN
3. Region 8 Arabian Show, Denver, CO
4. Midstates Summerfest, Mason City, IA
