After being tabled for a one year hiatus because of construction of the addition to the Museum and the World Equestrian Games, plans for the 2011 Saddlebred Art, Antique and Rare Book Auction are underway. The auction will once again be held on July 16, 2011, during the Lexington Jr. League Horse Show at the Red Mile’s historic Round Barn.

The auction features equine artwork in all media, rare books unique antiques and collectibles as well as historic artifacts. Consignments are now being accepted for this year’s event. Artwork must be tastefully framed (or preferably in original frame) and items in good condition. The deadline for submission is March 25, 2011.

The auction will begin at noon, and a Preview Party will be held prior from
11 a.m.– noon. If you’ve never attended the auction, plan now to do so – it’s one of the season’s most unique and entertaining events!
