USHJA Welcomes New Programs Director

Lexington, KY – January 18, 2011 - The United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) is pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of Kelley Douglas-Mallery as the new Director of Competitive Programs and Education. Kelley comes to the USHJA with a diverse resume rich with experience, including horse show office management, farm management, and event planning.

Kelley is an alumna of Hollins University where she was president of their collegiate equestrian program and competed on the 1991 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Champion Team. More recently Kelley was the 2010 National Champion in the IHSA Alumni Hunt Seat Over Fences Class.

“As a nonprofit organization, that has an active committee structure, it is vital to our success to correctly position the ideal staff within our organization. Kelley’s industry experience along with her steadfast work ethic and passion for our sport will benefit and enhance our programs and USHJA constituents” stated Bill Moroney, President of USHJA. “Kelley comes to USHJA as Melanie Fransen, the previous Director of Programs and Education, has resigned from USHJA. We thank Melanie for her years of service and wish her the very best as she pursues other endeavors.”

Beginning on February 7, Kelley will be overseeing and managing the International Hunter Derby, WCHR programs, the Hunterdon Cup and other competition programs for the USHJA. She will serve as the liaison to the Hunter Restructure Committee, the Open Hunter, Junior Hunter, Hunter Breeding, Hunter Pony and Equitation Task Forces, as well as the Professionals and Amateurs Committees.
