Wellington, FL - Dressage rider Tina Konyot, and her World Equestrian Games partner Calecto V, turned in brilliant performances in the Grand Prix classes at the Wellington Classic Dressage Spring Challenge CDI to ride into the winner’s circle. Konyot also rode away with the “Rider Wellness Award” from The Wellington Institute, awarded to a rider on the Florida dressage circuit who is healthy looking and physically fit.
Calecto, a magnificent black stallion that represented the U.S. at WEG, showed he was back in top form when he won the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 75.300% and the FEI Grand Prix de Dressage with a score of 70.043%. Konyot was thrilled with Calecto’s performances; she has her sights set on London in 2012 and believes Calecto will shine when the time arrives.
Konyot was also shining during the show, a fact that helped her win the Rider Wellness Award. “My secret to staying healthy is to eat well, and always wear sunscreen, that is very, very important,” she said. “Also, I think I am blessed with good genetics.”
Juan Gonzalez, Director of Marketing for The Wellington Institute, congratulated Konyot on her success at the show. “It is an honor to have Tina as our Rider Wellness winner,” he said. “I am looking forward to Tina having a free consultation with Dr. Jeannine Cabanellas at The Wellington Institute and learning how to improve her energy and increase her stamina, among many things.”
Konyot was excited about winning the Rider Wellness Award from The Wellington Institute and said she looks forward to learning about their organic vitamins and their athletic recovery package. “Dr. Cabanellas and two Ph D’s created the athletic recovery package especially for equestrians,” Gonzalez said. “The package meets the needs of an equestrian on a daily basis.”
Gonzalez added that The Wellington Institute offers a Sports Performance package that includes a super-stamina program, post injury recovery, the ability to increase lean muscle mass, reduce fat, increase elasticity and help with the prevention of non musculoskeletal injuries. “We are very excited that our programs have been embraced by the equestrian community and we look forward to meeting new riders and helping them not only recover from any injuries they may have, but also getting back their youthful looks with our anti-aging program.”
Olympic Dressage ride Robert Dover is one of the many equestrians whose life has changed thanks to Dr. Cabanellas. Dover describes himself as “living proof” of what The Wellington Institute can do, and said that after two years of working with Dr. Cabanellas he looks and feels like a new person. “The Wellness Institute uses bio-identical hormone replacement to replenish hormones with exactly the same chemical produced by your body, so you realize a natural, holistic rejuvenation you have to experience to believe,” Dr. Cabanellas said. “So many riders, like Robert, look and feel great now and have turned back the clock thanks to The Wellington Institute.” The Wellington Institute also airs on Dover’s World, a radio show hosted by Robert Dover that airs every Tuesday at 6 pm on WBZT (1230AM) from North Palm Beach to North Miami, and is streamed live around the world on DoversWorld.com.
Along with sponsoring the Rider Wellness Award at the major Florida dressage shows, The Wellington Institute is sponsoring the Rider Wellness Award at the prestigious FTI Winter Equestrian Festival. The Wellington Institute has also contributed to many important area charities, including the FTI Great Charity Challenge.
