Lill and GB Jacs Bond Top Open Consolation Bonzano and Gallo Step Mark High Score in Non Pro Consolation

Kreuth, Germany – The Consolation for the $187,000 added National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) European Open Futurity offered plenty of fine reining for visitors today. It was FEI European Champion Nina Lill (GER) who rode to a top score of 220 astride GB Jacs Bond (owner Jan Gerbig). The gelding by GB Jac out of Dr Bonds Bessie was bred by Daniela Schurrer and earned the Western Event Snaffle Bit Level 2 Open Futurity Champion title last year. The duo marked the highest score amongst the Level 4 and Level 3 Consolation competitors.

The second best score of the day, a 219.5, was earned by IC Strong N Bueno and Davide Brighenti (ITA) for ACE Stable SRL. The stallion by Spat Olena out of Dry N Bueno (bred by Ivan Cividati) was an Italian Level 4 Open Futurity finalist and Austrian Reining Horse Association Western Star Level 2 Open Futurity finalist with Massimiliano Ruggeri in the saddle. The two sit atop the Consolation ranking in Level 2.

The leading rider in Level 1 Consolation ranking was Pierluigi Chioldo (ITA) riding RS Countach Olena), a mare bred and owned by Claudio Risso. She is by Spat Olena out of Harlan Glo and was Italian Level 4 Open Futurity finalist with Nicola Brunelli. The two scored a 217 today.

After today’s Non Pro Consolation class, finalist for the $64,000 added Non Pro Futurity are now decided. The top five from of each level of the Consolation qualified for the finals today.

Manuel Bonzano (ITA) and his Gallo Step had the best run scoring a 215.5. The stallion is by Gallo Del Cielo out of Miss Dude Step and was bred by George R. Bell. Robert Gattuso showed him at the One Hot Reining Futurity, Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity and NRHA Futurity. They won the Level 2 Non Pro division and the Prime Time Non Pro division at the John Deere Reining Futurity.

Selina Schultheiss (SUI) and Siri For Sure placed second scoring a 213.5 which was also the best run in Level 1, 2 and 3. The stallion (Heza Sure Whiz x Legends Fantasy) bred by the Schultheiss family was 2010 NRHA Germany Breeder’s Snaffle Bit Level 4 Non Pro Reserve Champion.

FINALS SCHEDULE - Friday’s schedule includes and Level and Level 2 Non Pro finals starting at 2:30 p.m. with the Level 1 and Level 2 Open finals commencing at 6 p.m. On Saturday, the Level 3 and Level 4 Non Pro finals begin at 2 p.m. and the Level 3 and Level 4 Open finals follow at 6 p.m.
