Joyce Harman, DVM, owns a holistic equine practice in Virginia for all types of horses. She has served on many boards of directors, is past president of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and of the Veterinary Botanical Medicine Association. She has written about all aspects of holistic medicine in textbooks, articles for horse publications, and research papers, and she has been studying green farm practices and natural building techniques for horse and cattle farms.

Alayne Renee Blickle, is a lifelong equestrian and reining competitor, contributing author to TheHorse.com's Smart Horsekeeping blog, and the creator/director of Horses for Clean Water, an award-winning, nationally acclaimed environmental education program. She is an educator and photojournalist who has worked with horse and livestock owners for over 15 years teaching manure composting, pasture management, mud and dust control, water conservation, chemical use reduction and wildlife enhancement.
