St. Christopher’s Horse Show Boasts Exciting Schedule

Quentin, PA — The St. Christopher’s Horse Show, which was awarded the '2010 Horse Show of the Year' Award by the Pennsylvania Horse Show Association (PHSA), boasts an exciting schedule of hunter-jumper competition for riders of all ages and skill levels. The St. Christopher’s Horse Show returns to Pennsylvania’s picturesque Lebanon Valley region at the historic Quentin Riding Club in Quentin, PA, May 11-15, 2011.

"We are very excited to offer our exhibitors a wide selection of classes," said show producer Lloyd Longenecker of Ryegate Show Services. "Whether you're an equitation, hunter or jumper competitor at the beginner or advanced level, you are guaranteed to find divisions at St. Christopher's that are perfectly suited to you."

Competition on Opening day, Wednesday May 11, kicks-off in the jumper ring with St. Christopher's popular Hunter Breeding Division for yearlings, two and three-year olds, and ponies. The hunter ring will see competition ranging from First Year Green Hunters to the High Performance Working Hunters while the Baby Green, Young and Low Hunters will perform in the annex ring. Exhibitors are invited to enjoy complimentary lunch on this day, sponsored by Johnson Horse Transportation.

On Thursday, competition in the jumper ring will continue with the Hopeful and 5-year old and 6-Year-Old jumper classes. Highlighting the action in the hunter ring are the High Performance Working Hunters and Side Saddle Classes. The annex ring will see assorted hunter classes throughout the day, culminating with the Bit O' Straw Classic, which is a member event of the 2011 Marshall & Sterling League (M&S) and is open to Junior and Amateur riders.

Highlighting Friday's competition in the jumper ring is the $1,500 Open Jumper Welcome Speed which will be followed by the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) Equitation Classic Jumper Phase. The hunter ring will feature the $1,500 Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic, sponsored by Gerry Camera, Pessoa/USEF Hunter Seat Medal and ASPCA Maclay classes. Highlighting the competition in the annex ring is the Ariat National Adult Medal/Farnam Adult Medal as well as the Adult Amateur Hunter Classic, sponsored by Uma Farm, which is a member event of the 2011 M&S, WIHS Championships and North American League (NAL).

On Saturday, competition in the hunter ring will continue with Amateur-Owner Hunter and Junior Hunter Divisions, while the horse show's youngest competitors will also have their chance to compete in the Lead Line division, sponsored by Mary Beth Lanza. Many thanks to Diane Daly, Windy Willow Farm and Christiane Schuman-Campbell for sponsoring the Younger Amateur Owner Division. The annex ring will feature pony hunter divisions along with the Equisport/USEF Pony Medal, $1,500 Pony Hunter Classic sponsored by Double G Stables and H&H Tack Shop Equitation classes.

Sunday's action in the jumper ring is highlighted by the $1,000 Children's Jumper Classic and $2,500 Adult Amateur Jumper Classic, sponsored by LRJ Enterprises, both of which are member events of the 2011 M&S, WIHS Championships and NAL. Competition will culminate with the $3,000 Junior-Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, sponsored by Rolling Acres, which is a member event of the 2011 M&S and NAL. Competition in the hunter ring is highlighted by the Taylor Harris Insurance Services NCM/M&S Child Medal class as well as the Children's Hunter Classic, sponsored by Kimber View Stables, a member event of the 2011 M&S, WIHS Championships and NAL. Competition in the annex ring is highlighted by the WIHS Pony Equitation class, and small, medium and large pony hunter divisions.

Awards to be presented throughout the week include Best Child Rider on a Horse, sponsored by Outlaw Stables, Best Child Rider on a Pony, sponsored by The Equine Marketer, Leading Hunter Rider, sponsored by Perry County Excavating, Grand Hunter Championship, sponsored by Perry County Excavating, Grand Pony Hunter Championship, sponsored by Outlaw Stables, Grand Junior Hunter, sponsored by Perry County Excavating, Grand Amateur-Owner Hunter Championship, sponsored by Outlaw Stables, Best Young Horse, sponsored by Holly McPherson and Best Young Pony, sponsored by The Equine Marketer.
