Oklahoma City, OK – New Market, TN, will be the next host for the 2011 NRHA Regional Clinic Series. Mike Flarida, Charlie Hutton, Matt Flarida and Charlie Wills will be sharing their tips and techniques at the Ricer Glen Equestrian Center on May 28-29. This clinic is an amazing opportunity for reiners of all ages and experience levels to ride with top NRHA Professionals and take part in the first Regional Clinic Show hosted by the Tennessee Reining Horse Association.

Mike Flarida from Georgetown, KY, is a legendary NRHA Hall of Famer. He is a multiple NRHA World Champion, a two-time NRHA Futurity Open Champion and a multiple All American Quarter Horse Congress Futurity Champion. He has been competing in Reining since 1982 and has lifetime earnings in excess of $615,000.

Joining Flarida will be his son, Matt Flarida from Midway, KY. Matt’s reining accomplishments speak for themselves with his lifetime earnings of over $230,000. He was the 2006 NRHA Futurity Level 3 Open Reserve Champion and is a four-time All American Quarter Horse Congress Futurity Level 3 Open Champion. No stranger to the sport of Reining, he has been competing since 1993.

Charlie Wills will also be a must see NRHA Professional included in this all-star lineup. He has been competing in Reining since 2000 and has earned nearly $20,000 for his work. His accomplishments include an intermediate open championship at the 2008 NRHA Southeast Regional Affiliate Finals.
Rounding out the cast of expert trainers is Charlie Hutton. He is the owner of NRHA Hall of Fame and Million Dollar Sire Nu Chex to Cash. Hutton has been competing in Reining since 1982 and has more than 50 years of training experience.

This is the sixth year the NRHA has organized the clinics to help raise funds for the National Reining Horse Youth Association (NRHyA). The clinics are designed to help anyone interested in learning more about reining horses, the reining business and the NRHA. The one-on-one training that attendees receive is tailored to each individual’s needs. Every clinic consists of two, one-day clinics giving participants the opportunity to attend either or both days as they prefer.

Participants from all disciplines learn by doing and by watching other reiners during the hands-on sessions. “The clinic was phenomenal!” said Deann Soults, a 2010 clinic participant. “The information was broken down in a very understandable way.” Another participant, Chase McBurney, commented, “I really liked the format of the clinic. I enjoyed all the different points that were covered. We had a lot of one-on-one time and I was able to ask a lot of questions. I really liked how my questions were answered and then the maneuver was demonstrated.”

Space is limited so sign up as soon as possible. All the proceeds go to support NRHyA scholarships, programs and youth activities. The cost is $250 for youth riders participating both days or $150 per day. Adults are encouraged to participate with an entry of $450 for both days or $250 per day. Auditors are welcome to attend for $25 per day. For more information or to register for a clinic, please contact NRHA at (405) 946-7400 or [email protected].
