The Paso Fino Village Tours the Country

by Donald A. Vizi/PFHA | Apr 25, 2011, 12:38 PM

Once an actual “village,” a series of buildings and stalls requiring 22 people to set up, the Paso Fino Village is now a miniature version of this extraordinary display. The Village is designed to give visitors an overview of the Paso Fino horse. Each year, the Village travels to horse expos, trade shows, fairs, rodeos and many other venues to promote the breed. Paso Fino owners, trainers, and breeders are always on hand to provide clarity and additional information about the Paso Fino gait, recreational activities, the history of the breed and the smooth riding experience.

The walk-through exhibit provides an informative demonstration using photos, video, and display boards. State of the art LCD flat screens and professional sound equipment give visitors a truly ‘up close’ experience. At some venues, live equestrian demonstrations are used to exhibit this breed’s natural gait, which is often considered the smoothest in the world. Sample rides are added to the Village experience whenever possible, because we know that to ride a Paso Fino is to love a Paso Fino.

The Village covers a 20’ x 20’ area when erected and stands 16 feet high at its tallest point. The Paso Fino Village is housed at an indoor location, transported, erected, and staffed under provision of the staff with Cowboy Church of Virginia, based in Roanoke, Virginia. It is owned and operated by Anni Howell of Riverview Farms in Mt. Jackson, Virginia. Set up of this massive display requires 50 to 70 man hours; tear down requires 35 to 50 man hours.

The Village exists solely because of the enthusiasm of its sponsors - dedicated companies and Paso Fino farms all over America. We are thankful for those who donate their time and resources to promote this unique breed.
