Lexington, VA - It was an excellent week for the horses and riders of Derbydown during the Lexington Spring Premiere, held April 27 - May 1, 2011, at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA. The talented group took home three tricolor ribbons and multiple winning results after successfully competing in the show's challenging hunter divisions.

Louise Serio and Bright Star 158, LLC's Rock On kicked off the week by taking home the championship award in the First Year Green Working Hunter division. The duo was awarded a first place ribbon, two second place ribbons, and two third place ribbons to receive the division's highest honor.

In the 3' Pre-Green Hunter division, Serio showed Lucky Strike, owned by Sarah Ingle, to the reserve championship prize after earning a first place ribbon and a second place ribbon over fences.

Representing Derbydown in the Junior/Amateur Schooling Hunter division, Jane Maguire piloted Fun & Games to the Reserve Championship award. In the Adult Amateur 36-46 Hunter division, Blair Balmer and Deer Hill Farm's Black Tie had excellent results and were presented with the winning ribbon in an over fences class.

Kristen Bowman made her debut in the Small Junior 15 & Under Hunter division with Rhinebeck at the Lexington Spring Premiere. The duo proved to be very successful and earned the top call in an over fences class against stiff competition.

Serio and Derbydown are now gearing up for the rest of the spring season, which will include the Kentucky Spring Horse Shows in Lexington, KY, later this week, and the Devon Horse Show in Devon, PA.
