American Saddlebred Museum Annual Art Auction to Change Location in 2011

by ASHA news | Jun 17, 2011, 5:31 PM

Lexington, KY - On Saturday July 16, during the Lexington Jr. League Horse Show, the American Saddlebred Museum’s Art Auction will begin at 12 noon at the Museum's new Showplace for Saddlebreds at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Sixty-six Lots of a variety of items will be sold during the early afternoon. “If you’ve never attended the art auction, this is the year to do so,” says Tolley Graves, event coordinator. “Attendees can now enjoy it in the comfort of air conditioning! The Round Barn has been a very picturesque setting for the auction, but bidders, artwork and food were all at the mercy of the elements there. We’re excited to hold the event in our new facility and think it will provide a more comfortable environment.”

A Preview party will be held which will feature a light lunch, refreshments and spirits. It will begin at 10:30 AM Saturday, and will continue through the end of the auction, approximately 2 PM. The party is being generously sponsored this year by Elizabeth Deknatel, Carol Hillenbrand and Kenny and Ceil Wheeler.

As in past years, if you are unable to attend but would like to participate, telephone bids will be accepted with advance arrangements. Everyone attending the Jr. League Horse Show is invited to be a part of this one-of-a-kind event. We’re confident you will have an enjoyable time. If you would like to receive an auction catalog, arrange for a telephone bid, or inquire about the auction, call Tolley Graves at (859) 259-2746. You may also preview the items online at www.asbmuseum.org.
