Hey Teens! Draw a Horse, Win Some Kerrits! USEF Launches Facebook Drawing Contest

Eligibility: The contest is open to anyone 13 to 19 years old who is a legal resident of the United States. Employees of the United States Equestrian Federation, Inc., (and their immediate family members) are not eligible to win.

Submission deadline: Entries are due August 3, 2011, 11:59 p.m. EDT via Facebook (www.facebook.com/USEquestrianFederation - USEF Horse Drawing Contest).

Instructions:  Scan or photograph drawing and submit entry via Facebook (www.facebook/USEquestrianFederation) – USEF Horse Drawing Contest. No paintings. Drawings only. One entry per person.

Voting process: Voting by USEF Facebook fans will begin August 5, 2011 (8 a.m. EDT) and end August 8, 2011 (11:59 p.m. EDT). Offensive posts, comments or inappropriate material may result in users being blocked from the USEF Facebook page, rendering their vote or votes null and void.

Prizes: The Grand Prize winner will receive an equestrian outfit from Kerrits. If female, the Grand Prize winner will receive a wild horse tee and a pair of performance tights. If male, the Grand Prize winner will receive a wild horse hat and a pair of performance tights. Total apparel value is approximately $90. The Grand Prize winner also will receive a subscription to Blaze magazine. In addition, the Top 10 drawings will be displayed during the USEF Pony Finals, August 9-14, 2011, at the Kentucky Horse Park, in Lexington.

Voting process: USEF Facebook fans will determine the winner at www.facebook.com/USEquestrianFederation. Voting will run through August 8, 2011 (11:59 p.m. EDT).  Offensive posts, comments or inappropriate material may result in users being blocked from the USEF Facebook page, rendering their vote or votes null and void.

Additional details: The Contest is sponsored by the United States Equestrian Federation, Inc., 4047 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511 (“Sponsor”). All Internet access and usage charges are the responsibility of the entrant. If for any reason the Internet portion of the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion, to terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alternation of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Contest. In the event of a dispute, eligible electronic entries will be considered made by authorized account owner of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. Sponsor reserves the right to remove any drawings that do not fit the contest theme, are inappropriate in nature, or may infringe on copyright.

Potential winners will be notified by email or telephone, within 5 days of the Contest. If any potential winner declines to accept the prize or cannot be contacted within 5 business days of the end of the contest by the email address or telephone number supplied with drawing submission, such potential winner will be disqualified and the Sponsor will award the prize to the entrant with the next highest number of votes. In the event of a tie, those drawings tied with the most votes will be put before a three-judge panel chosen at the discretion of the Sponsor. By participating, entrants release United States Equestrian Federation, Inc., and their members, officers, directors, employees and agents of each from any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named and described) for injuries, damages or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with receipt, enjoyment, ownership or use of any prize. By acceptance of prize, winner grants permission to Sponsor to use winner’s name, age, city, state, photograph or likeness and the photo selected as the winning photo for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation or approval (where lawful). Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest at the end of any month. 

Winners acknowledge that except and to the extent that the Sponsor cannot by law exempt itself from responsibility or liability, the Sponsor has neither made nor is in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prizes described herein including, but not limited to, its quality, merchantability, mechanical condition or fitness for use. All warranties are hereby disclaimed, and the winner will accept the prize “as is.” All federal, state and local taxes, fees and other expenses not specified herein (including, without limitation, sales tax, luxury tax and any other costs incurred in claiming or using any of the prizes), are the prize winner’s sole responsibility. Prizes cannot be assigned, transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. No prize substitution or cash equivalent of prize, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion, and then only for a prize of equal or greater value.

Winners: To obtain a winner’s list, send a self-addressed, stamped business size (#10) envelope to: Stephanie Doyle, E-Communications Manager, United States Equestrian Federation, 4047 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, KY 40511.

Disputes: By participating, each entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Contest, or any prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and any judicial proceeding shall take place in a federal or state court within the Commonwealth of Kentucky; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, but in no event attorney’s fees; (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental and consequential damages, and any other damages other than out-of-pocket expenses and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, to the extent that such issues and questions are not subject to the statutes or regulations of another state or locality, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of laws or provisions (whether of the Commonwealth of Kentucky or any other jurisdiction), that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and (4) Facebook.com will be completely released from any and all liability that arises from any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Contest, or any prizes awarded therefrom.
